Dr. Cherry (Ailenubhi) Eromosele Emerges as MarketingWorld’s CMO of the Week
Interswitch Group’s Executive Vice President & Group Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, Dr. Cherry (Ailenubhi) Eromosele, an experienced and data-driven C-Level marketing leader has been crowned as MarketingWorld’s CMO for the week, from May 27th to June 3rd 2024.
Currently leading the Group Marketing and Communications function at Interswitch, Cherry is responsible for creating and implementing innovative marketing strategies towards building the entire Interswitch brand portfolio, spanning both the corporate (Interswitch) and consumer segments of the business; including the flagship Verve and Quickteller brands.
Possessing 25+ years’ experience in the industry, Cherry has a track record in building and leading effective, cohesive and high-performing integrated marketing and communications teams that deliver and outperform ambitious revenue growth & brand performance targets across diverse industry sectors, through the development of multi-disciplinary marketing capabilities. These span product marketing, transaction growth, customer acquisition, pipeline & funnel management, go-to-market, user experience, marketing automation, customer insights & value management, content marketing, digital/analytics and sales enablement, most recently within the contemporary technology space in Africa.
With consistently demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional results when crossing into new industry terrains, her multi-sectoral marketing leadership experience cuts across consumer, telco and FinTech/Digital Commerce business sectors. She is presently accountable for integrated marketing, brand management, corporate communications, customer value management & corporate social responsibility, to support key business objectives across the full breadth of Interswitch’s business portfolio.
It is worth noting that Cherry’s outstanding contributions to the industry hasn’t gone unnoticed. She was adjudged as one of the top 50 Marketing Professionals in West Africa at the annual Marketing World Awards in Accra, Ghana. She was recognized as ‘Marketing Personality of the Year’ (2015) in Nigeria by Marketing Edge and most recently ‘Top-50 Female Marketing Professional in Nigeria’ in May 2020.
In terms of her career journey, Cherry has built, developed and led marketing teams across industry-leading organizations: Beverages and consumer goods, telecoms and technology sectors – Diageo/Guinness, MTN, Glaxo Smithkline (GSK) and Interswitch.
In addition to a honours degree in Biological Sciences Education from the University of Benin, Cherry has attended executive functional, leadership and management programs from Cranfield School of Management (Marketing Directors’ Program), Columbia Business School, Wharton Business School, Kellogg Business School and recently the Oxford Fintech Program at Said Business School of the University of Oxford, whilst being a fellow of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN).

Riad Mezi Emerges as MarketingWorld’s CMO of the Week
MTN Cameroon’s Chief Marketing & Digital Officer, Riad Mezi, an astute marketing and digital expert has been crowned as MarketingWorld’s CMO for the week, from May 27th to June 3rd 2024.
Appointed in the year September 2020 as the Chief Marketing & Digital Officer for MTN Cameroon, Riad has been responsible for providing strategic direction, ensuring brand development, and driving revenue generation within the company. He also oversees the marketing initiatives, enhances customer service, leverages digital tools to improve business performance as well as promotes innovative digital strategies to support the company’s growth and customer engagement.
Under his leadership, MTN Cameroon achieved consistent solid performance, marked by three years of double-digit growth and boasting one of the most engaged teams.
Throughout his career journey, Riad has acquired a diverse range of work experience in various roles and industries. He possesses 20 years of international experience with major international groups including MTN, Etisalat, Airtel, Zain, Vimpelcom, Veon, Timeturns and Ooredoo.
Prior to his current position, he has held the position of Chief Consumer Officer (CCO) at MTN BENIN and Sales Director (CSO) at VimpelCom Algeria – Djezzy. Riad has also worked as the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) at Smart Communications, Inc., Group Marketing Director at Atlantique Telecom Group – Etisalat, and Senior Manager – ISP & Business Solutions at MTN. Riad started his career as a Marketing Product Manager at Zain and Ooredoo Algeria before working as a Project Manager at I2B. Throughout his career, he has achieved notable milestones such as successfully launching a national WiMAX & Broadband network.
Due to his stellar performance in the industry, he was honoured as the Best Operator in Central Africa by Africa Telecom People.
In terms of his educational history, Riad obtained a Master’s Degree in Computer Science from Université des Sciences et de la Technologie ‘Houari Boumediène’ in 1997-2001. Following this, in 2012-2013, he earned a Diploma in Telecom Business from the University of Derby. He further pursued his education and completed a Master of Business Administration (M.B.A.) with a specialization in Marketing at the University of Liverpool from 2013 to 2015. In 2016, he briefly attended Harvard Business School for a program on Innovation & Disruptive Strategy. Recently, in 2022, Riad enrolled in a Leadership for Executives Certificate program at Duke University. Additionally, he holds certifications such as Advanced Online Marketing Certification and Prince2 Certified in projects.
Outside work, he enjoys innovating, motivating and creating value while sharing knowledge.

Cynthia E. Ofori-Dwumfuo Emerges as MarketingWorld’s CMO of the Week
Hollard Insurance Ghana’s Group Head, Marketing and Corporate Affairs, Cynthia E. Ofori-Dwumfuo, a strategic communications and marketing expert has been crowned as MarketingWorld’s CMO for the week, from May 27th to June 3rd 2024.
Cynthia brings over 12 years of marketing communications experience spanning three continents. Her career has focused on corporate communications, brand development, marketing (traditional and digital), public, media and government relations, corporate social responsibility, and events management.
Prior to joining Hollard, Cynthia led public relations in Ghana and West Africa for Ogilvy, a global ad-agency network. She is credited with significantly increasing the company’s PR revenues in less than three years. She led award-winning assignments at Ogilvy, including Coca-Cola’s 2018 “Share a Coke” World Cup Nigeria/Ghana PR campaign, Guinness’ ‘1759 celebrates 1957’ promotion, Gold Fields’ 25th Anniversary, VISA’s AFCON partnership, Unilever Pepsodent’s World Oral Health Day, “Ghanaians Against Child Abuse” campaign for UNICEF, to name a few.
Cynthia previously held senior roles at Now Available Africa and Global Media Alliance – managing projects for multinational and local clients across West and Central Africa. She also worked in the USA and UK, notably for Vox Global, a Fleishman Hillard public affairs company. Early in her career, she honed her skills in strategy at reputable Ghanaian management consulting firm, Shawbell Consulting.
Under her leadership, Cynthia’s past employers and clients have won numerous international and local awards including EMEA and Africa SABRES, PR Excellence, Gong Gongs and more.
In terms of her academic credentials, Cynthia holds an M.A. in Communication from Clemson University, USA, and a B.A. in Economics from KNUST, Kumasi.
