Warda Kimaro emerges as MarketingWorld’s CMO of the Week

Warda Kimaro, Head of Brand Marketing & Communications, Vodacom Tanzania has been named MarketingWorld’s CMO of the Week.
Kimaro has redefined industry standards, steering the telecom giant toward unprecedented brand growth, consumer engagement, and market dominance.
Since assuming her role at Vodacom Tanzania, Kimaro has been at the forefront of strategic brand positioning, impactful advertising campaigns, and groundbreaking consumer engagement initiative
One of her most remarkable achievements came when she led the launch of Tanzania’s first-ever 5G use case with an innovative 2-way hologram, a feat that solidified Vodacom as a pioneer in next-generation connectivity.
Before her tenure at Vodacom, Warda honed her expertise across multiple industries, consistently leaving a mark of excellence. As Trade Marketing Manager at Kilombero Sugar Company, she successfully transformed and revitalized brand equity and boosted sales volume through a well-executed channel strategy.


At Tanzania Breweries Limited – AB InBev, she served in several leadership roles, including Country Marketing Head. Her tenure as East Africa BU Portfolio Growth Manager saw her deliver a huge P&L improvement through innovation-led portfolio expansion.

Meanwhile, as Marketing Manager for Category Expansion, she revived a struggling spirits brand, driving massive growth within a year. At Coca-Cola Central, East & West Africa, she played a pivotal role in executing the 2013 FIFA World Cup Trophy Tour in Tanzania, achieving unparalleled PR value and extensive media coverage.
She later made history at Tanzania Distilleries Limited, repositioning a leading brandy and launching Tanzania’s first locally flavored cream liqueur and a rose wine, both of which became instant market successes.
