Isabelle Kariuki-Rostom Emerges as MarketingWorld’s CMO of the Week

The Coca-Cola Company’s Marketing Director, East and Central Africa, Isabelle Kariuki-Rostom, a versatile marketing expert has been crowned as MarketingWorld’s CMO of the week, from June 24th to June 30th 2024.

Known as a business leader with over 15 years experience in Marketing Operations, Innovation and Brand Management across various industries, Isabelle possesses strong commercial acumen and experience leading cross-functional teams across Africa and Europe to deliver impactful end-to-end initiatives that have driven transformational business growth.

Appointed in the year March 2021 as the Marketing Director, East and Central Africa for the Coca-Cola Company, Isabelle has been driving accelerated business growth by leading the development and implementation of marketing plans and innovations across 15 markets in Africa including Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Somalia, Eritrea, Mozambique, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Botswana, Malawi, Comoros and Mayotte.

Prior to her current appointment, she was the Regional Marketing Manager (Islands and Central Africa) – West Africa Business Unit at the Coca-Cola Company from March 2020 – March 2021 where she was responsible for leading the development and execution of business & marketing strategies across 12 countries in Central Africa and Indian Ocean Islands.

Still at the Coca-Cola Company, she was the Senior Regional Brand Manager – West Africa Business Unit from November 2016 – February 2020 where she was responsible for the development and implementation of marketing strategies for the Coca-Cola Company beverages portfolio across the Central Africa region.

She was also the Product Design and Innovation Manager – Central, East and West Africa at Coca-cola Company from May 2015 – November 2016 where she led the product development and commercialization of innovations in the Business Unit, as well as driving governance via management of the end-to-end gate process.

Before joining the Coca–Cola Company, Isabelle was an Innovation Brand Manager – Africa Region as well as an Innovation Executive at Diageo from July 2013 – May 2015 and January 2012 – June 2013 respectively. Aside the aforementioned, she was the Marketing Manager at Middlesex University London from March 2009 – September 2011, and also the Agency Relationship Executive at Radio Africa Group from December 2006 – January 2008.

Isabelle is an alumna of the Middlesex University from 2008 – 2009 where she obtained an MA, Marketing Management with a First Class Honours, BA (Hons), and Marketing in the year 2003 – 2006 from the University of Northampton and a Bachelors in Business Administration from the Thompson Rivers University in the year 2002 – 2003.

Her outstanding contributions to the manufacturing industry make her a deserving recipient of the CMO of the Week recognition by MarketingWorld Magazine.

Peo Porogo Emerges as MarketingWorld’s CMO of the Week

FNB Botswana’s Director Marketing and Communications, Peo Porogo, a phenomenal marketing practitioner has been crowned as MarketingWorld’s CMO of the week, from June 24th to June 30th 2024.

Appointed on the 1st of September 2022 as Director of Marketing and Communications, Peo Porogo has been responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive marketing strategies to drive business growth, building and maintaining strong relationships with stakeholders, leading a team of marketing professionals, and ensuring alignment with business objectives and brand guidelines.

Staying up-to-date with industry trends, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to promote the bank’s products and services, Peo has been enhancing the bank’s reputation, customer engagement, and market share in Botswana.

Peo’s career started in 2007 as a Junior Sales & Marketing Manager for C.A Sales and Distribution, and later joined Orange Botswana as a Market Intelligence and Strategy Executive, followed by Barclays Botswana where she held numerous positions including Portfolio and Marketing Manager for Credit Cards. In 2014, Peo joined Kgalagadi Breweries Limited (KBL), where she held the positions of Marketing Manager for Premium Alcoholic beverages and Marketing Manager for Coca-Cola products.

She joined FNBB in 2016 as Marketing Manager for Retail and progressed to the positions of Deputy Marketing and Communications Director. As part of her mandate at FNB Botswana, Peo oversees the Branding and Marketing portfolio, with the key aim of positioning the FNBB Brand to effectively compete within a highly competitive and mature banking industry. She initiates segment-focused marketing, which ultimately contribute towards realizing the overall FNBB strategy.

Aside from the aforementioned, Poe takes care of the FNBB Foundation.

Poe holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration majoring in Marketing obtained from the University of Botswana and successfully completed Management Development Programs from the University of Cape Town and the University of Stellenbosch.

Peo is a Marketing and Communications professional who carries a wealth of over 15 years of experience and exposure from various sectors of the economy, covering Telecommunications, Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) and Banking. Her areas of expertise include among others strategic marketing, brand building, PR & communications strategy, market intelligence & insights, product & portfolio management, sales and business relationship building.

Her outstanding contributions to the banking industry make her a deserving recipient of the CMO of the Week recognition by MarketingWorld Magazine.

Amr Youssef Emerges as MarketingWorld’s CMO of the Week

People & Places’ Chief Marketing Officer, Amr Youssef, a result-oriented marketing expert has been crowned as MarketingWorld’s CMO of the week, from June 24th to June 30th 2024.

Appointed in May 2024, Amr has been leading the overall marketing strategies & communication plans for the People & Places projects and corporate communications.

Having worked with multinationals and leading real estate developers in various countries such as Egypt, UAE, Kuwait, London, and Switzerland, amongst others, Amr has acquired vast experience in dealing with different industries and a diverse portfolio of deliverables.

Prior to his current appointment, Amr was the Marketing and Innovations Director for MARAKEZ where he was responsible for assembling annual Marketing plans for Marakez Residential developments and communities, setting the overall online sales strategy for Marakez coupled with the annual targets and KPIs, assembling & executing all Online Marketing Campaigns and managing the annual online budgets, amongst others.

It is worth noting that Amr has been one of the pioneers in the online marketing industry in Egypt serving in the capacity of a General Manager at HUG Digital (AKQA), both in Egypt and KSA.

In his career in the online marketing industry, Amr was keen on learning every aspect of the business. Heading the marketing departments of renowned companies such as SODIC, Hug Digital, Emaar Misr, Porto Group, Orascom Development Holding, and Egypt Oil & Gas, amongst others, Amr has been the sole leader in managing award-winning projects in addition to successful online campaigns.

For over 10 years, Amr has been responsible for all online marketing activities for local and multinational companies starting from email blasts and website development to social media development/management, online campaigns with giants such as Google and Yahoo and the development of mobile apps.

Due to his outstanding contributions especially to the online industry, Amr received numerous accolades including two Golden Awards at the Pan Arab Awards for the Real Estate & Retail categories, two awards for the second best Real Estate website in Egypt in 2008 and 2009 in the Egypt Web awards, a Best Developer Website in the Bloomberg annual awards in 2009 and a Best Marketing Practice for the year 2010 in Orascom Development Holding.

Amr is an alumna of Ecole Supérieure Libre des Sciences Commerciales Appliquées where he obtained Master in International Marketing in the year 2008 – 2010 and also a BSC in engineering Communications from Modern Sciences and Arts University in the year 2000 – 2005.

His outstanding contributions to the industry make him a deserving recipient of the CMO of the Week recognition by MarketingWorld Magazine.
