Sophie Gallagher Joins M+C Saatchi as Group Strategy Director

M+C Saatchi has made a bold leadership move by appointing Sophie Gallagher as Group Strategy Director. In this pivotal role, she will spearhead the agency’s Connections Strategy offering, driving the seamless fusion of media and creative to create integrated campaigns that influence audiences, shape culture, and deliver real business results. Her arrival marks a strategic boost for the iconic Australian agency known for pushing creative boundaries.

Gallagher brings more than a decade of diverse, high-impact experience across journalism, publishing, in-house client positions, and leading full-service agencies. She has delivered standout work for major brands including Samsung, Compare Club, Universal, Sony, Audi, LVMH, The University of Sydney, and Ingham’s. Her impressive track record has been celebrated with top industry honors at Cannes Lions, Effies, Spikes Asia, AWARD, AGDA, and the MFA.

Most recently serving as Strategy Director at Clemenger BBDO, Gallagher previously honed her skills at Slingshot Media Ventures and News Corp. Her expertise lies in connections strategy—the discipline of bridging media channels and creative execution to maximize audience engagement and measurable outcomes in today’s fragmented media landscape.

Gallagher expressed her enthusiasm: “I am thrilled to be joining M+C Saatchi, an iconic agency that has continually shaped how Australian brands have influenced people’s lives. This is a pivotal time in our industry, where media and creative must work hand in hand to drive impact and influence. I am so excited to work with M+C to bring this dynamic combination to clients, and create more work that drives trust, engagement and results.”

Let’s enjoy the show.”

Beyond her professional achievements, Gallagher is a dedicated advocate for industry diversity and emerging talent. She leads Assisterhood NSW, a mentorship program supporting underrepresented communications professionals, which grew mentor participation by 42% under her guidance. A 2025 B&T Women in Media Awards finalist in Strategy, she was named “one to watch” in B&T’s Best of the Best Media Agency Strategy Chiefs list, mentors through the Media Federation of Australia’s NGEN program, and frequently speaks at events like MFA EX and Little Black Book Monthly Cut on the power of creativity and strategic connections.

This high-profile appointment strengthens M+C Saatchi’s position in delivering culture-shifting, results-driven campaigns at a time when integrated thinking is more critical than ever.
