Building Premium Beverage Brands at KWAL and Heineken

Before joining SportPesa, Wasike served as Head of Marketing at Kenya Wine Agencies Limited (KWAL) under Heineken Beverages, where she oversaw portfolio growth and strategic brand management. Her leadership contributed to strengthening premium beverage positioning in a rapidly changing consumer market.

Earlier, as Innovation Head, she led innovation commercialization projects that focused on introducing new products and accelerating market adoption. Her work reflected a strong ability to align consumer trends with business opportunities, helping brands remain relevant and competitive.

Innovation Leadership at Diageo and EABL

Wasike’s reputation as a commercialization expert was firmly established during her years at Diageo and East African Breweries Limited. As Innovation Commercialization Manager and later Marketing Manager for Innovation, she played a leading role in delivering high-impact product launches across the region.

Among her standout achievements was the successful launch of Tusker Cider, which delivered significant incremental growth for the Tusker trademark. She also led the introduction of Black & White Scotch Whisky, achieving remarkable volume growth within its first year in the market. Her work consistently demonstrated how innovation, when strategically executed, can unlock new revenue streams and reshape consumer engagement.
