Sustainable dairy plant spanning 35 soccer fields
The entire plant spans 25.4 hectares, equivalent to 35 soccer fields, and is set to process 400,000 kilogrammes of fresh milk daily. It will produce 700 million kilogrammes of dairy products annually, with the potential to grow up to 1 billion kilograms. Built in line with the targets of FrieslandCampina’s Climate Plan, the plant will contribute to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions. Green innovations such as biomass boilers, wastewater recycling, and a roof with solar panels will together achieve a 45 percent reduction in CO2 emissions, a 22 percent saving on electricity, and a 25 percent reduction in water consumption. Additionally, the greening initiatives include the use of more than 55,000 sustainable pallets.
