Ghanaian automobile firm, Silver Star Auto Limited, has introduced two new vehicle brands from Indian automobile manufacturer, Eicher Motors Limited, onto the Ghanaian automobile market.
The vehicles include Eicher trucks and passenger buses, with the General Manager of Sales at Silver Star Auto Limited, Akbar Siddiqi disclosing that a 5% discount will be rewarded to customers who purchase the new vehicles within the next two weeks.
In a bid to encourage the buying of the new Eicher brands, Mr Siddiqi, revealed during the launch that Eicher Motors was renowned for manufacturing vehicles with exceptional fuel mileage, which would be an advantage in Ghana’s current fuel market.
“Eicher is well known in India for its mileage; it can run further with least amount of diesel and this is the biggest up selling point of Eicher.”
He added that Eicher’s collaboration with Swedish carmaker, Volvo meant that modern technology in Volvo vehicles will also be ported onto Eicher’s brands.
“The second thing is because of its collaboration with Volvo. There are a lot of technologies crossed over from Volvo into Eicher trucks.”
Established in 1996, Silver Star Auto Limited has grown to include branches in Accra, Tema and Kumasi, and is the authorized distributer of cars and trucks from Peugeot and Citroen brands in Ghana.
In addition, the company is also the authorized trader of spare parts in Energizer Batteries, Power Oils, and Motul Oils in Ghana.
