Nigeria: UAC Foods Limited appoints Opeyemi Abe as Category Brand Manager

A leading manufacturer and marketer of tasty, nourishing convenience foods, UAC Foods Limited has appointed Opeyemi Abe as the Category Brand Manager for Snacks.

Opeyemi, who announced the new position on her LinkedIn page will be working collaboratively with the team at UAC Foods to grow the Snacks Category as well as achieve all set objectives for the company.

Prior to her appointment, she was the Assistant Brand Manager, Beverages at Promasidor Nigeria. In that position she was responsible for the end-to-end management of TopTea, Cowbell Coffee & Strawberry as well as developing brand plans to ensure attainment of set business and brand objectives.

Opeyemi is an enthusiastic and passionate person with the capacity to procure and inspire ideas, develop them into projects and see them through execution to completion.

She is infused with the ability to create solutions to problems on-the-go and due to her versatility and team spirit; she can achieve the best results on short notice and within the best possible time. She has been featured in 4 national newspapers and 1 national TV interview and 2 Radio interviews so far due to her prowess, intelligence, and inspiring achievements as a young person.

She has good communication skills, leadership qualities, moral ethics and values, proficiency and efficiency, reliability and diligence, great sense of responsibility, on-feet-thinking capability, ability to keep up with the trend and vogue, finesse, and meticulous nature.

Opeyemi was also awarded the Emerging Marketing Professional of the Year in FMCG category at the 2023 Women in Marketing Conference and Awards.

Opeyemi started her career at Cadbury Nigeria PLC as Sales and Marketing Intern where she participated actively in brand promotion activations and programs. She then moved to UAC Diaries as Quality Control Intern where she carried out analysis on food products daily (Chemical, Microbial), to ensure conformance to specifications and documented findings.

At Friesland Campina, she served as Strategic Brand Communication Specialist with the responsibility of Marketing and Branding, Medical channel understanding and marketing, Customer development and management, Key Account Management, Segmentation and targeting of clients, Brand Communication, Business plan and Marketing strategy development, Territory planning and execution, Infant and Child Nutrition, Stakeholder Management, Lead and Demand Generation.

She also worked at PZ Cussons as Brand Manager where she was responsible for the end-to-end management of the “Carex” Brand in Nigeria and developing brand plans to ensure attainment of set business and brand objectives.

She holds a Master of Science in Public Health Nutrition from the University of Chester as well as a Brand Management Academy Certificate of completion.
