Nigeria: Pepsi Nigeria partners record label to launch music academy

Pepsi Nigeria has partnered with record label, EMPIRE, to float Pepsi Music Academy (PMA) for the development of the industry in the country.

The announcement was made recently by General Manager, Marketing, Seven-Up Bottling Company, Segun Ogunleye, at a press conference in Lagos.

According to him, PMA would cater for discovery and incubation of talents across various facets of the industry in addition to supporting and enabling the entire music ecosystem.

Ogunleye explained that the music artistry component of the academy would expose participants to intense industry education from a carefully selected faculty of music business leaders, who have contributed immensely to the global growth of Afrobeats and the Nigerian music ecosystem.

He that three noted finalists from the academy would receive brand new sport utility vehicles (SUVs), a living allowance for two years, have opportunity to be a Pepsi Influencer, get their music produced by Grammy award-winning producers Sarz, Masterkraft, Blaisebeatz and P.Priime, a music video production sponsored by the brand and a two-year developmental recording deal with EMPIRE.

EMPIRE’s Regional Head of West Africa, Mobolaji Kareem, affirmed that the collaboration was a landmark project for the next generation of artistes to expand Afrobeats globally.
