Mwihaki Wachira emerges as MarketingWorld’s CMO of the Week

Mwihaki Wachira, Group Head of Marketing & Communication at I&M Bank Ltd, has been named MarketingWorld’s CMO of the Week for February 3rd–10th, 2025.
A seasoned professional with over 20 years of experience, Wachira has played a pivotal role in driving brand transformation, market entry strategies, and innovative campaigns across Africa. She currently oversees strategic branding initiatives for I&M Bank across Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, and Mauritius-based Bank One.
Before joining I&M Bank, Wachira was the Regional Marketing Lead for Sub-Saharan Africa at Stoli Group. She spearheaded the company’s market entry strategy in key markets, including Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, and Ethiopia.
Her earlier career included roles at PZ Cussons, Population Services International, and Impulse Promotions Limited, where she developed expertise in brand management, project management, and merchandising strategies.

Wachira’s extensive skills encompass branding, communication strategy, PR, media buying, digital marketing, and stakeholder engagement. Renowned for her ability to lead cross-functional teams and deliver transformative marketing solutions, she has established herself as an industry leader.

Her academic background includes a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing from Kenyatta University and a Postgraduate Diploma in Marketing from the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM). She further honed her leadership skills through the Executive Leadership Program at Strathmore Business School and the Gordon Institute of Business Science.
Wachira’s exceptional contributions to marketing and communication have earned her this recognition by MarketingWorld Magazine. Her innovative approach and dedication continue to set benchmarks in the industry.
