Hyundai Unveils a new brand Grand i10 Nios in India the Market

The country’s second largest car maker, Hyundai Motor India Ltd has launched its new compact hatchback, the Grand i10 Nios, at a price range of ₹4.99 lakh to ₹7.99 lakh. According to them, it was the third launch of the company in the current calendar year after compact sports utility vehicle Venue and and electric SUV Kona.

The Grand i10 Nios is based on a new platform. Since 2013, the South Korean manufacturer has sold more than 7.51 lakh Grand i10s in India.

The Grand i10 Nios will come with petrol and diesel engine variants compliant with Bharat Stage 6 emission norms. Hyundai will also offer its in-house automated manual transmission technology.

In the first quarter of the current financial year, the compact hatchback segment made up 48% of the total vehicles sold India. With the launch of the Grand i10 Nios, Hyundai’s product portfolio in the hatchback segment will include the Santro, Grand i10, Nios and Elite i20.

Commenting on the launch, the managing director Hyundai Motor India SS Kim, said “The Indian market is key and the axis point of Hyundai’s global growth plan. The third generation Grand i10 Nios is our third consecutive launch in India of the highly successful i10 brand. The launch will stand for our commitment to the Indian market and fulfill our promise of creating a happy life for our customers.”
