HiFL 2019: GOAL.COM PARTNERS PACE SPORTS

…secures exclusive content, news and video agreement.

As the HiFL 2019 session sets to take off, football website, Goal.com, a subsidiary of Perform Group, has reached an agreement with PACE Sports and Entertainment Marketing Ltd, to become the Online Media Partner of the Higher Institutions Football League (HiFL) ahead of the 2019 season.

Under the terms of the agreement, Goal.com will stream exclusive content, news and video from matches played across the various centres. The HiFL returns for a second season starting April 2019.

Speaking on the partnership, Senior Sales Executive, West-Africa, Goal.Com, Thelma Edinbus stated that the partnership is a step in the right direction for the company as it hopes to drive excitement around the league. “Goal.com is excited about this partnership with the Higher Institutions Football League and we see this as a great opportunity to encourage the amazing football talents that we have in our campuses. I am certain our high number of visitors will be delighted to see the in-depth reviews of the 2019 league season and we are looking forward to future engagements in the coming years” Edinbus said.

In his remarks on the rationale behind the partnership, Chief Strategy Officer, PACE Sports and Entertainment Marketing, Olamide Adeyemo said “we are excited by the significance of this partnership to every young athletic talent across Nigerian universities and what it means for their professional aspirations. We believe that Goal.com’s extensive reach, followership and engagements will further propel them towards their dreams.”

He added that “PACE, NUGA and our sponsors including StanbicIBTC Bank and Premier Cool remain committed to partnerships that will ensure the sustainability of HiFL as one of the most powerful platforms for grassroots football development in Nigeria and Africa as a whole. The PACE Sports and Goal.com deal would run throughout the 2019 season with an option of extension”.

It would be recalled that UAM Tillers from the University of Agriculture, Makurdi won the maiden edition of the league after defeating the UNICAL Malabites from the University of Calabar 5-4 on penalties at the finals of the 2018 edition played at the Agege Stadium in Lagos. The HiFL 2019 Season commences in April, with 32 schools playing for a period of 21 weeks.
