Ghana: Achimota Retail Centre launches ‘Honour thy Mother’ to celebrate Mothers

Achimota Retail Centre (Achimota Mall) has unveiled ‘Honour thy Mother’, the most affectionate formula for expressing love, appreciation and gratitude to mothers during this year’s Mother’s Day season.

Mothers who get ‘nominated’ and acknowledged by their lucky sons and daughters at Achimota Retail Centre will be handed tickets to a lush spoiling session which includes a night’s stay at a classy hotel in Accra with all expenses paid.

“Our mothers are too invaluable to be adequately celebrated within the space of a single day. That’s why Achimota Retail Centre is devoting this entire month of May to Mothers…..and we have put together a splendid package of gratitude which every mother and child would be proud of,” Mrs Linda Pappoe, Marketing Manager said.

Indeed, ARC has extended the Mothers’ Day celebration beyond just one day, so that, beginning Saturday, May 11, and running until Sunday, May 26, the Centre will welcome nominations of great mothers from the mall’s shopping patrons. Three acknowledged mothers stand the chance of being fêted respectively with special ARC celebratory packages which include a one-night stay with their partners of choice at either Fiesta Royal Hotel, Sunlodge Hotel or Mendiata Hotel all in Accra.

“Lucky mothers will avail themselves of this lifetime experience when ARC patrons nominate them, by filling out a form with their details, along with a brief but sensational account of a childhood sacrifice which their mother made for them,” Mrs Pappoe explained.

She said entries for nominations will remain open for 16 days starting on Saturday, May 11 and may be made directly with promoters at the Centre or on the Centre’s social media platforms. Three mothers will be selected based on the weight of the account of childhood experience provided by the patron and on Wednesday, May 29, the winning mothers shall be announced.

The Centre’s Management says on Mother’s Day itself, the ambience will be creatively ‘motherly’, while a string of surprises in giveaways and special discounts has been lined up for shoppers and revellers. There would be a colourful ‘Photo Station’ mounted at the court for shots by mother and child and for those who may want to capture memorable moments with their mother.

“So clearly, the Mothers’ Day experience at ARC is a family affair. While our mothers get to enjoy the ultimate rewards for being such great mothers, the rest of the family gets something exciting to savour in the course of the 16 days,” the Marketing Manager said.

Achimota Retail Centre, popularly known by patrons as Achimota Mall, is located at Dome off the Accra- Nsawam Highway and serves diverse social categories from almost a dozen communities in the Ga East Municipality.

It is anchored by the grocery giant Shoprite and offers customers a product mix of both Ghanaian and international brands with offerings in different retail categories including, fashion and clothing, electronics, grocery and a range of alluring delicatessen and eateries.
