Google Cloud appoints Stephanie Buscemi as new CMO

Google Cloud has named Stephanie Buscemi as its new Chief Marketing Officer, succeeding Alison Wagonfeld, who left the role in February 2026 to become NVIDIA’s first-ever CMO after nearly a decade at Google Cloud.

Buscemi joins from Confluent, where she served as Chief Marketing Officer for more than five years. She will work closely with Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian and Google’s Chief Marketing Officer Lorraine Twohill.

“I am absolutely thrilled to welcome Stephanie Buscemi to the team to lead Marketing for Google Cloud,” Twohill said. “It’s fitting that Stephanie brings the full stack of experience to this role – leadership through tech platform shifts, a track record scaling huge enterprise businesses, the ability to cut through industry noise and a relentless focus on driving impact and outcomes for customers.”

At Confluent, Buscemi led and scaled the company’s global marketing, developer relations and technology strategy in support of its mission to redefine data infrastructure. Between March 2022 and December 2025 she also served as President and Board Member of Confluent.org. Before that, she spent nearly seven years at Salesforce, rising from Senior Vice President of Marketing for Analytics Cloud to Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer.

Buscemi said Google Cloud’s progress in artificial intelligence was a key factor in her decision to join. “Google has spent more than a decade building the answer across every layer of AI: infrastructure and TPUs, data, security and Gemini,” she said. “Enterprises don’t get production-grade AI from stitching together point solutions. They get it from a stack built to work together, end to end.

“Nearly 90% of the Fortune 100 already use Gemini Enterprise, and 80% of Google Cloud customers use its AI products today. The opportunity now is translating that power into absolute clarity for every enterprise buyer. That’s the job I’m taking. Not more volume in an already loud category. Clarity, and the discipline to keep a customer’s outcomes at the centre of everything we do.”

Google Cloud’s momentum in AI has been reflected in its latest financial results. Last quarter the business grew revenue 82% year-over-year while operating income rose to US$8.8 billion, driven largely by enterprise demand for AI infrastructure.

“The opportunity ahead for enterprise is extraordinary, and we’re only at the beginning,” Twohill added. “I can’t wait to work closely with Stephanie and Thomas Kurian on this next chapter, seeing what’s possible when we fully unlock the promise of AI for businesses at scale. Welcome to Google, Stephanie, let’s get to work.”
