HEINEKEN Ethiopia appoints Kolawole Akintimehin as new Marketing Strategy Manager

Kolawole Akintimehin has been appointed Marketing Strategy, Planning & Innovation Manager at HEINEKEN Ethiopia, marking a new international chapter in his career.

Akintimehin announced the move on LinkedIn, describing it as a one-year assignment that builds on his extensive experience driving brand growth in Nigeria. He takes up the on-site role in Addis Ababa with effect from August 2026.

“Having spent the last several years building brands and driving commercial growth in Nigeria, this opportunity allows me to expand my leadership experience in one of Africa’s most dynamic and fast-growing markets,” Akintimehin said.

He noted that the position combines consumer understanding, strategic thinking, planning excellence and innovation to support HEINEKEN’s growth ambitions while offering fresh market perspectives.

Akintimehin brings more than a decade of brand management experience from Nigerian Breweries Plc, the Heineken operating company in Nigeria.

Most recently he served as Senior Brand Manager for Heineken, a role he held since September 2022, focusing on strengthening consumer affinity and preference for Heineken and Tiger beers through strategic communication, media investment, innovation and brand activations.

Earlier at Nigerian Breweries he held successive positions including Senior Brand Manager for Flavoured Beers (Desperados and Star Radler), Brand Manager for Gulder, and Assistant Brand Manager roles for STAR, Gulder and Heineken.

He also thanked the HEINEKEN Ethiopia team, led by Bart De Keninck, for a warm welcome.

“As I begin this next chapter, I look forward to learning, contributing, building meaningful relationships, and creating lasting impact together,” he said.
