Dangote Group: Nigeria’s Top Taxpayer with N402bn

Dangote Industries Limited (DIL) and its subsidiaries have announced the payment of over N402.3 billion in taxes to the government in 2024, solidifying its position as the highest taxpayer in Nigeria.

The disclosure was made by Anthony Chiejina, Chief Branding and Communication Officer of Dangote Group, during a meeting with senior media executives at the company’s Lagos office. Chiejina emphasized that the conglomerate, including Dangote Cement, NASCON, and Dangote Packaging Limited, remains committed to its fiscal responsibilities as a responsible corporate entity.

In recognition of its tax compliance, the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) honored Dangote Industries Limited and its subsidiary, Bluestar Shipping, as the most tax-compliant organizations in Nigeria during the 2024 Lagos International Trade Fair, organized by the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI).

Chiejina reaffirmed the company’s dedication to fulfilling its obligations at all levels, both in tax payments and in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives. He highlighted Dangote Group’s strategic evolution over the past four decades, noting its pivotal role in achieving self-sufficiency for Nigeria in cement and refined petroleum products while expanding its footprint across Africa.

Beyond tax compliance, the Dangote Cement Plc, the country’s leading cement manufacturer, also garnered accolades at the FMDQ Gold Awards in Lagos, winning three key awards:
