Dangote Refinery cuts petrol price to ₦860

Dangote Petroleum Refinery has announced a significant reduction in the ex-depot price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), lowering it by ₦65 per litre, from ₦890 to ₦825 per litre, effective February 27, 2025.

The move, aimed at alleviating financial strain on Nigerians, comes ahead of the Ramadan season and aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic recovery strategy. By reducing fuel costs, the refinery seeks to ease the burden of living expenses and contribute to overall economic stability.

This marks the second price cut in February 2025, following an earlier reduction of ₦60 per litre at the beginning of the month. In December 2024, during the yuletide season, the refinery also slashed PMS prices by ₦70.50 per litre, bringing the cost down from ₦970 to ₦899.50 per litre, ensuring price stability and mitigating fuel scarcity during the festive period.

Competitive Pricing Across Retail Outlets
Consumers can purchase Dangote’s high-quality petrol at competitive rates across various retail partners. At MRS Holdings stations, the fuel will be available at:

-₦860 per litre in Lagos
-₦870 per litre in the South-West
-₦880 per litre in the North
-₦890 per litre in the South-South and South-East

-Assurance of Steady Supply and Economic Growth
Dangote Refinery has reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a steady supply of petroleum products, with sufficient reserves to meet domestic demand and surplus available for export, further bolstering Nigeria’s foreign exchange earnings.

The company has urged marketers to support the initiative, ensuring that Nigerians reap the benefits of stable fuel pricing. This move aligns with the broader national economic recovery strategy led by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who is focused on making Nigeria self-sufficient in refined petroleum products and positioning the country as a leading oil export hub.
