Visa appoints Rukevwe Toka as its Marketing Manager, West Africa

A digital payment platform, Visa has appointed Rukevwe Toka, a marketing professional as the Marketing Manager, West Africa.

In his new role, he will be responsible for leading brands, product and clients to a new market level of identifying the greatest market opportunities and harnessing growth at equity level which in turn will impact on the brand.

Rukevwe is obsessively focused on creating value and building breakthrough brands! He employs the best practices and principles of marketing to maximize business growth. His long-term goal is to become a global business leader with extensive cross-cultural experiences & a track record of driving groundbreaking profitable business growth.

He has 11 years working experience across Technology, Consumer Goods, Education and Media industries where he garnered several notable achievements and acquired strong marketing, strategy, execution, commercial & people leadership skills while managing some of the world’s most iconic brands.

His also cuts across various functions including brand management, consumer & omnichannel shopper insights, digital & data-driven marketing as well as marketing communications.

Recently, Rukevwe was recognized among the 35 Under 35 Marketing & Communications Professional by Brand Communicator for his excellent achievement in marketing and other related areas.

Prior his appointment, Rukevwe was the Marketing and Category Leader, Culinary, Maggi at Nestle where he was charged with the responsibility of driving expansion and growing MAGGI to become number one most chosen CPG product in Africa & Middle East.

Before then, he was the Pioneer Executive Member, Senior Shopper Insights Manager, Africa and Senior Brand Manager of The Coca-Cola Company. At Unilever, he served as the Brand and Digital Marketing Manager where he led the execution of brand strategies during a pandemic to exceed financial targets.

Rukevwe holds a Bachelor of Science in Medical Biochemistry from University of Benin and a Master of Business Administration in Business/Commerce from University of South Wales.
