Vodafone Red Cloud introduced to businesses in Kumasi

Telecommunication giant, Vodafone Ghana, has introduced the Vodafone Red Cloud service to help secure the digital activities of businesses in Kumasi.

The Vodafone Red Cloud storage can be easily accessed using internet services and has many benefits over local storage systems.

Through Vodafone Red Cloud, the telecommunications company is offering a safe, smarter and simple way to transform businesses.

The server is a powerful virtual computer that is built, hosted, delivered and managed by Vodafone.

Cloud storage enables organizations to store and retrieve critical data when needed.

Speaking at the Vodafone Technology Forum held in the Ashanti Region, Tawa Bolarin, Director for the Enterprise and Wholesale, Vodafone Businesses, stressed on the benefits of signing onto the Vodafone Red Cloud.

“A lot of people use cloud locally on their phones and as a technology provider, we use cloud and a lot of the applications we run today on our network, is on the cloud environment. We thought it wise to extend that to our customers. Red Cloud is hosted in Ghana in a secured facility with a highly IT environment and security

In a dynamic world, the cloud provides agility and access to the essential data and Apps you need to be decisive and differentiated. Vodafone Red Cloud is easy to use, reliable, secure, flexible, cost-effective and scalable,” she said.

She assured companies of the protection of their data. According to her, signing onto Vodafone Red Cloud is cheap and affordable.

“The server has several multiple layers of security and it is world standard security. Charges are dependent on how much space you need, but I can guarantee that it is cheaper than what you’re using to run your business. You can access the Vodafone Red Cloud from anywhere or on any network globally” she added.

Some ICT professionals expressed satisfaction with the initiative.

Enoch Nyarko Benson, Head of IT at Multi Credit Savings and Loans Limited said, “this will take the stress off most banks in Ghana, especially the savings and loans on how we manage our market space and how we reach out to our customers.

If we employ the Vodafone Red Cloud it will be a big advantage to us and we wouldn’t have to be worried about the technical stuff anymore,” he noted.

Roger Adwetaa Menkaa, the Atwima Kwanwoma Plc IT Manager, noted, “coming from the financial sector, storage and security is one thing we consider very important and the Vodafone Red Cloud initiative came at the right time.

Now I can have the assurance of reliability and security when it comes to data storage” he said.
