Thelma Okoh named new NIMN registrar

The National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN) has appointed Mrs. Thelma Okoh as its new Registrar, effective July 1, 2025, following its Annual General Meeting in Uyo.

This appointment reinforces NIMN’s dedication to excellence and gender inclusion, succeeding Ms. Patience Sado, the Institute’s first female Registrar.

Okoh, a seasoned public relations consultant and CEO of Winstarbel Communication Limited, brings over a decade of expertise in integrated marketing communications. Her leadership spans multiple ventures, including Winstarbel Press Enterprise, Winstarbel Investments Limited, and Harold Engineering House Limited. Okoh’s consultancy portfolio includes high-profile clients such as the Lagos State Ministry of Information and Strategy, Tri-Continental (IBM/Lenovo distributors), DG Logistics, and the African Public Relations Association (APRA).

Starting her career as a copywriter, Okoh has excelled in crisis communication, stakeholder engagement, brand strategy, and media relations. A Council Member of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and former General Secretary of its Lagos State Chapter—the first woman in that role—she is also a co-partner and Executive Director at DigiConverge and DigitalPR-Wire. Additionally, Okoh serves as Lagos Liaison Officer for the Nigerian Prize for Leadership and Vice Chairman of the SERAs Awards Local Planning Committee.

A fervent advocate for women’s empowerment, Okoh has led initiatives as President of Lady Seals Association and Matron of Dynamics Charity Women Association, focusing on reducing child mortality. She holds a B.Sc. in Public Relations and Advertising from Lagos State University and a Master’s in Mass Communication from the University of Lagos, complemented by certifications from Pan Atlantic University and the Lagos Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Okoh’s appointment signals a new chapter for NIMN, with her strategic vision poised to elevate the marketing profession across Nigeria.
