Nigeria: Gbolahan Sanni quits Coca-Cola, moves to Airtel Nigeria as Vice President, Brands and Communication

Seasoned marketing communication professional, Gbolahan Sanni has quit the services of The Coca-Cola company Nigeria where he was the Marketing Director to pitch tent with telecommunication giants, Airtel Nigeria as Vice-President, Brands and Communication.

In his new position, Gbolahan will be expected to spearhead the development of Airtel Nigeria’s communication strategy directly managing communications activities that promote, enhance, and protect the organization’s brand reputation and be responsible for the development, integration, and implementation of a broad range of public relations activities relative to the strategic direction and positioning of Airtel Nigeria, among other functions.

The trajectory of his over 20 years’ professional journey shows that he started his career as Salesman-Market activation team member at Unilever Nigeria where he was on NYSC internship. After that he joined Bates Cosse as an Account Executive.

Thereafter, he moved to Diageo as Brand Support Manager- Guinness and was later promoted to the position of Brand Manager- Lager and then became Brand Manager- Johnnie Walker before his exit from the company. It was after his exit from Diageo that he joined The Coca-Cola Company as a Senior Brand Manager- Colas.

He moved up the ladder to his current position due to his dedication and contribution to the growth of the company. Noteworthy, the other positions he had held before becoming Marketing Director include: Marketing Manager- Flavours and Still Beverages, Franchise Marketing Manager, and Global Still Beverages Manager.

He holds a BSc in Environmental Management & Toxicology from the Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta. He also holds Postgraduate Certificate in Business Administration and Management, General; Executive Management Programme at IMD Business School and Certificate Programs: Marketing Strategy, Marketing Analytics at the Cornell University among other certifications.
