MarketingWorld’s CMO of the Week: Jide Sipe Of Bank of Industry Limited

In today’s rapidly evolving financial landscape, brand identity and digital engagement have become central to how institutions connect with stakeholders and drive impact. At the forefront of this transformation is Jide Sipe, Group Head of Brand Transformation and Digital Marketing at Bank of Industry Limited.

With a career spanning some of Nigeria’s leading financial institutions, Sipe has built a reputation for shaping powerful brand narratives and leveraging digital innovation to strengthen institutional visibility, customer engagement, and market leadership.

Steering Brand Transformation at the Bank of Industry

In his current role at the Bank of Industry, Sipe leads the institution’s brand strategy and digital marketing agenda, reinforcing its reputation as Nigeria’s oldest and most prominent development finance institution.

His mandate focuses on projecting the bank’s mission of supporting industrialisation and economic development by providing financial assistance to enterprises across the country.

Through strategic storytelling, digital campaigns, and reputation management, he works to position the institution as a trusted partner for businesses seeking financing for expansion, diversification, and modernization.

Shaping Corporate Communications in Pan-African Banking

Prior to joining the development finance sector, Sipe served as Head of Marketing and Corporate Communications at Ecobank Nigeria. In this role, he oversaw brand strategy, public relations, and customer engagement initiatives aimed at strengthening the bank’s visibility within Nigeria’s competitive banking landscape. His leadership helped align marketing communications with broader corporate objectives while enhancing the institution’s connection with customers and stakeholders.

Driving Brand Strategy in the Insurance Industry

Sipe also contributed to the growth of Heirs Insurance, where he served as Head of Brand Management and Marketing. During his tenure, he helped build brand awareness for the relatively new insurance provider, supporting marketing initiatives designed to establish the company’s presence in Nigeria’s insurance market. His work focused on crafting compelling brand messaging and strengthening consumer trust through strategic marketing communication.

A Career Rooted in Brand Leadership

Much of Sipe’s professional foundation was built at Guaranty Trust Bank, where he spent more than a decade as Head of Brand Management and Experiential Marketing. In that capacity, he led high-profile brand campaigns and experiential initiatives that strengthened the bank’s reputation as one of Nigeria’s most innovative financial institutions. Today, drawing on this extensive experience, Sipe continues to champion brand transformation and digital engagement as key drivers of institutional growth and economic development in Nigeria.
