Jumia Ghana expands operations with new warehouse ahead of Black Friday 2024

Jumia, the leading e-commerce platform in Ghana, has launched a new integrated warehouse and logistics network facility in Tema.

The facility marks a significant investment in Ghana’s e-commerce ecosystem and comes just in time for Black Friday, the biggest shopping campaign of the year that will run from November 1st to 30th, 2024.

The new warehouse, spanning 6,000 square metres, offers significantly increased storage capacity, enabling Jumia to efficiently manage its growing product range and meet the rising expectations of Ghanaian consumers.

By optimising its supply chain operations, Jumia aims to reduce delivery times, expand product availability, and solidify its position as the preferred online shopping destination in the country.

“This strategic expansion is a testament to Jumia Ghana’s success and our unwavering dedication to serving the Ghanaian market. By enhancing our logistics infrastructure, we are better positioned to meet the evolving needs of our consumers, especially as we prepare for our biggest Black Friday campaign to date. This new facility will enable us to offer a wider selection of products, faster delivery times, and even greater convenience to consumers,” said Temidayo Ojo, CEO of Jumia Ghana.

Located in Tema, the warehouse’s strategic placement near major transportation routes will facilitate efficient distribution across Ghana.

With its operational readiness for Black Friday, the facility provides a robust platform for local businesses to connect with new customers and boost sales, fostering job creation and economic growth.

The Black Friday campaign will feature amazing deals across several categories, empowering brands and entrepreneurs to reach wider audiences and supporting the company’s vision for accessible e-commerce.

“Our team is excited to operate from this modern facility and we are sure to see improved employee satisfaction. The increased space and advanced infrastructure will also allow us to streamline our operations, improve order fulfilment, and deliver an even better shopping experience for our customers,” said Fiacre N’Guessan, Chief Supply Chain Officer of Jumia Ghana.

As Jumia Ghana continues to expand its product offerings and reach, this new warehouse is a cornerstone of the company’s growth strategy.
