Geico, one of the nation’s leading insurance providers, has appointed Arianna Orpello as its new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), effective January 2026.
Orpello steps into the role following the departure of former CMO Damon Burrell, who left the company in January after a nearly three-year tenure.
Orpello brings a wealth of experience from the financial services sector, most recently serving as global chief brand officer at Goldman Sachs. Her career also includes senior leadership roles at TD Bank, Capital One, and ING Direct, where she honed her expertise in brand strategy and marketing innovation. Reporting to Geico’s chairman, president, and CEO, Todd Combs, Orpello is poised to elevate the insurer’s marketing efforts.

“Arianna’s extensive leadership experience in financial services will be instrumental to our continued success,” Combs said. “Her proven expertise will help elevate our world-class marketing capabilities to a new level.”
Orpello’s appointment comes at a pivotal time for Geico, which paused its creative agency review in March amid the search for a new CMO. The review, launched to expand Geico’s agency roster, remains on hold. The insurer has partnered with The Martin Agency since 1994, with the Richmond, Virginia-based firm creating iconic campaigns such as the Geico Gecko, introduced in 1999, and the enduring tagline, “15 minutes could save you 15% or more on car insurance.”
Geico’s financial performance remains strong, with the company reporting a $1.8 billion underwriting profit for the second quarter of 2025, a slight increase from the previous year.
