Mwinda Kiula is the Executive Head of Marketing and Communications for Treasury and Trade Finance Solutions at Rand Merchant Bank (RMB). She is recognized as a trailblazer in the marketing and communications field, leading strategic initiatives that advance RMB’s positioning within the competitive financial services sector. Mwinda combines innovative marketing approaches with strong leadership to drive impactful engagement and growth across diverse client segments.

Her leadership drives integrated, dynamic go-to-market strategies that fuel financial performance, expand market share, and accelerate client growth. With expertise in account-based marketing, cross-channel strategies, stakeholder management, and client engagement, she transforms business objectives into impactful campaigns that deliver measurable results.

Before joining RMB, Mwinda spent seven years at Absa Group, where she held pivotal roles, including Head of Marketing for Corporate Transactional Banking. There, she positioned innovative, secure solutions by leveraging award-winning capabilities and specialist expertise to enhance client engagement and business origination. By balancing digital and traditional marketing, she drove awareness, lead generation, and thought leadership through compelling narratives, deals, and content marketing, cementing Absa’s presence across Africa.

Her tenure at Absa also included a role as Strategy and Planning Lead for Marketing and Communications, where she crafted and executed strategies aligned with corporate goals, managing budgets for advertising, sponsorships, and corporate relations across 10 African countries. Earlier, at Barclays Africa, Mwinda spearheaded regional marketing, communications, and public affairs, coordinating in-country programs to support business priorities.

Mwinda’s career also includes significant roles in Tanzania, such as Director of Marketing, Communications, and Corporate Affairs at NBC Limited, where she built strong brand reputations and maximized ROI through value-driven strategies.

As Director of Marketing and Business Development at Tanzania Postal Bank, she pioneered mobile banking innovations linked to M-Pesa and Airtel Money, collaborating with product teams to meet market needs. Her early roles at Vodacom Tanzania, HerdBouys McCann-Erickson, and Kenya Airways honed her skills in brand management, media campaigns, and sales growth, overseeing projects across 24 African countries.
