Diageo Plc Appoints Joan Odafe-Ejumedia as Brand Manager Reserve

A British multinational alcoholic beverage company, Diageo Plc has appointed seasoned marketing communications professional, Joan Odafe-Ejumedia as Brand Manager Reserve.

At Diageo, Odafe-Ejumedia will be managing the Reserve brands, driving consumer connections, experiences and profitability.

She made the announcement in a post via her LinkedIn account. The post read, “The Switch between Industries!!! My entire work journey has been an amazing one and I am excited by new brand challenges, this particular one is scary but I am doing it!!

“Happy to announce that I am Joining Diageo Plc. (Guinness Nigeria Plc.) as Brand Manager, Reserve. Looking forward to a whole new world of Celebrating Life everyday, Everywhere.”

Prior to joining Diageo, Odafe-Ejumedia was the Brand Manager, Gum, and Candy, West Africa for Mondelez International (Cadbury Nigeria and Ghana Plc.) where she managed brand value delivery to consumers and stakeholders. She joined the company in 2021 as the Perfect Store & Hot Zone Manager.

Before joining Mondelez international, she worked at Seven-Up Bottling Company as the Key Accounts Activation & Merchandising Executive for two years where she managed brand events, and promotions for Key account partners pan Nigeria with a key focus on business development and brand visibility delivery.

She holds a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology from the University of Ilorin, UNILORIN, and a master’s degree in industrial and Labour Relations from the University of Lagos, UNILAG.

She is an alumnus of Orange Academy, Lagos, where she did Integrated Brand Experience, Marketing Communications.

She completed a BMA Advanced Brand Management Marketing and Business Leadership course. Joan is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

She is skilled in Brand strategy development, Negotiation, Market data analysis, Consumer channel management, and Brand Management.
