Grey promotes Iheakachi Nwabueze to VP of Global Marketing and Growth

Iheakachi Nwabueze is a dynamic marketing and growth leader has be promoted to the role Vice President of Global Marketing and Growth at Grey (YC W22), the innovative Y Combinator-backed fintech revolutionizing cross-border payments, remittances, and digital financial services for individuals and businesses across Africa and beyond.

Previously, as Head of Global Marketing and Growth at Grey, she built and executed high-impact programs that propelled the brand’s rapid international expansion and established strong market positioning in the digital finance sector. She also served as Head of Product Marketing, where she honed expertise in crafting compelling go-to-market strategies, driving customer engagement, and aligning product narratives with user needs to accelerate adoption and loyalty.

In her pivotal role, Iheakachi drives Grey’s global brand strategy, market expansion, and commercial acceleration, scaling the company’s presence to over 70 countries. She spearheads comprehensive growth initiatives, including international marketing, marketing campaign management, product marketing, brand marketing, and strategic partnerships that fuel user acquisition, retention, and revenue growth in competitive fintech landscapes. Her leadership has been instrumental in positioning Grey as a trusted neobank, enabling seamless global financial connectivity for freelancers, SMEs, and emerging markets.

Nwabueze’s foundational experience includes roles as Social Media Marketing Manager at Busha, where she led cryptocurrency-focused digital campaigns to build community and drive engagement in the fast-evolving blockchain space, and as Communications Lead (Over The Top Media) at NairaBET, overseeing innovative media strategies and stakeholder communications.

Earlier positions as Communications Specialist at Santana Security Agency Limited and Telesales Agent at Jumia Group sharpened her skills in targeted outreach, customer relationship management, and high-performance sales environments.
