Denmark: Berta de Pablos-Barbier Appointed Chief Marketing Officer at Pandora

Pandora has announced the appointment of Berta de Pablos-Barbier as its new Chief Marketing Officer, effective November, 2024. She will report directly to CEO Alexander Lacik and join the company’s Executive Leadership Team. De Pablos-Barbier replaces Mary Carmen (MC) Gasco-Buisson, who is leaving after two years for a new role in the UK.

With 30 years of executive experience in global luxury and consumer goods, de Pablos-Barbier most recently served as President & CEO of LVMH’s champagne brands, including Moët & Chandon and Dom Perignon. There, she led innovative initiatives that resulted in record performance for the brands. Her previous roles include Chief Growth Officer at Mars Wrigley and CMO at Lacoste, where she successfully repositioned the brand globally. Additionally, her tenure as VP of Marketing & Communications at Kering-owned Boucheron adds depth to her expertise in the jewellery sector.

“Berta uniquely spans the consumer space from high-end to affordable luxury and has a strong track record in defining and implementing compelling visions and growth strategies for global brands. She’s perfect for leading the next chapter of our marketing strategy,” said CEO Alexander Lacik.

Since launching its Phoenix strategy in 2021, Pandora has seen solid growth, aiming to reshape consumer perceptions from primarily offering charms and bracelets to being recognized as a full jewellery brand. The strategy includes expanding collections with new categories, materials, and aesthetics, such as lab-grown diamonds and the sculptural ESSENCE collection.

“I’m excited to join Pandora, an iconic global brand on an impressive growth journey with sustainability at its core. I look forward to working with the talented team to elevate Pandora even further,” said de Pablos-Barbier.

The CEO, Alexander Lacik also expressed gratitude towards MC Gasco-Buisson for her contributions to the brand during her tenure and wished her well in her future endeavors.
