Paris Olympics: Samsung gifts nearly 17,000 athletes Galaxy Z Flip6 devices
Nearly 17,000 athletes and members of the Olympic family participating in the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games have received their Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 Olympic Edition smartphones. The distribution took place at the Olympic™ rendezvous @ Samsung showcase within the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Village.
The Paris 2024 Olympic Edition is a specially designed version of the newly launched Galaxy Z Flip6, which was unveiled at Galaxy Unpacked in July. To ensure all athletes received their devices before the official market launch, Samsung collaborated closely with the International Olympic Committee (IOC), implementing a secure and efficient transport program to meet the Games’ schedule.
This custom-built smartphone is the first Olympic Edition to feature Galaxy AI and is pre-loaded with exclusive services and apps. Athletes benefit from an eSIM with 100GB of 5G data, unlimited complimentary public transport access in Paris, and several official Olympic apps designed to enhance their experience and facilitate connections during their stay.
As a proud Worldwide Olympic and Paralympic Partner, Samsung continues its over three-decade legacy of supporting the Games with cutting-edge technology. Since becoming a Worldwide Olympic Partner at the 1998 Nagano Winter Games, Samsung’s mobile innovations have played a crucial role in sharing the Olympic spirit globally, with the Paris 2024 Games being the latest chapter in this enduring partnership.
