Hollard Life Assurance, a subsidiary of Hollard Ghana, has announced the expansion of its MeBanbɔ micro-insurance product to include MTN users, alongside Telecel.
This funeral and disability insurance policy can now be accessed via mobile phones by dialing USSD code *269# on both networks. This move reflects Hollard Life’s commitment to enhancing financial security and accessibility for a broader audience.
Nashiru Iddrisu, Managing Director of Hollard Life, highlighted that the expansion introduces improved customer service, faster claim processing, and more competitive pricing. He emphasized that the inclusion of MTN is a direct response to customer demands for greater inclusivity, aiming to serve all Ghanaians with customized insurance solutions.
MeBanbɔ offers flexible coverage options with packages of GHS 1,000, GHS 5,000, GHS 15,000, and GHS 30,000 for premiums as low as GHS 2, GHS 10, GHS 25, and GHS 50, respectively. The policy is available to individuals over 18 using MTN or Telecel networks, with MTN users required to provide their Ghana card number for automatic monthly deductions from their mobile money wallets.
Iddrisu also noted that Hollard Life aims to extend MeBanbɔ to all mobile networks in Ghana, further advancing financial inclusion and ensuring that customers and their families have reliable insurance coverage.
