A Director of Ghana Tourism Authority, Jones Aruna Nelson, has commended the management of Papaye Group Limited for their steady strides in becoming one of the key players in the hospitality value chain.
He said with a distinction of being the pioneer of the fast food restaurant in Ghana, it has remained consistent with quality delivery, which had served Ghanaians for the past three decades.
Speaking at the opening of a new branch of the company at Frafraha in the Adenta Municipality, Mr. Nelson also commended the company for being one of the key players in the hospitality value chain.
30th anniversary
The opening of the new branch, which brings to eight, the number of branches in Accra, coincided with the 30th Anniversary of Papaye which started at Osu, on the Oxford Street.
The Frafraha branch is expected to offer varied services to its customers at Adenta, Frafraha, Amrahia, Oyibi, Dodowa and its environs, having strategically sited its other branches to serve various communities such as the Spintex area, Tema, Tesano, and Abeka-Lapaz, respectively.
Mr. Nelson said Papaye’s plan to expand its business, was not only contributing to the further growth of the hospitality industry, but it was also helping to create employment opportunities.
Mr. Nelson thus encouraged management to open more branches as nine branches officially marked the birth of the company hence it was important that they build on their foundation to improve and contribute to the growth of sector.
Goal
The Executive Chairman of Papaye Fast Food Limited, Dr Samir Kalmoni, stated that the main goal for the opening of the branch was in line with the vision of serving Ghanaians better and providing employment to the youth.
He intimated that the Frafraha branch was also part of the deliberate efforts to ensure the satisfaction of its present and future customers with quality as their pole star which they never compromised.
Also, Dr Kalmoni said that the company had marked another milestone in its operations as management had employed 60 per cent of its staff from the municipality.
This, he explained, had helped the company operate as a good corporate citizen over the past 30 years of its existence.
Additionally, the company has maintained its adherence to all regulatory requirements on health and safety, being environmentally and corporately responsible as a way to be the torch bearer of the food sector in the tourism industry.
Dr Kalmoni attributed this feat to team work, commending the Ghanaian work force for their loyalty and encouraged them to also take pride in the organisational success as they were all an integral part of the team.
“The way a team plays as a whole determines its success and you all as workers can be proud of the success of our business,” he added.
The Managing Director of Papaye Fast Food Limited stated that the Frafraha branch was the culmination of an enormous collective effort which had begun two years ago.
He said in recent years the company had witnessed a significant increase in concern among the people of the Adentan Municipality, “thus it was fulfilling as a company to share with the people the piece of the Papaye Fast Food cake”.
