The launch event featured an inspiring speech from founder Manny Ohonme, who shared the heartfelt story behind World Shoe. Born in Nigeria, Manny’s life was changed forever by a simple pair of shoes he won in a contest, inspiring him to create a company dedicated to providing every child with the same opportunity. “I believe that every child deserves the opportunity to walk towards their dreams. World Shoe is more than just a business; it’s a movement committed to ensuring that no child’s future is limited by something as basic as not having shoes,” said Ohonme.
The event also underscored World Shoe’s commitment to creating positive change and empowering local communities in Ghana. The company has already created over 200 jobs at its factory in Akosombo, emphasizing sustainability, innovation, and local economic growth. “We are committed to creating economic opportunities in Ghana and across Africa, and we are proud of the tangible impact we have already made,” said Kojo Taylor, President of World Shoe Limited for Ghana.
