The La Casera Company Promotes Onyeka Okoli to the Position of Head of Marketing

Manufacturers of La Casera Apple and other refreshing beverages, The La Casera Company (TLCC) Plc. has promoted seasoned marketing communications professional, Onyeka Okoli to the position of the Head of Marketing.

In his new role, Okoli while leading a high-performing marketing team will develop and manage successful campaigns that deliver strong brand equity and market share gain for TLCC’s portfolio.

He was, until his new role, the Group Portfolio Marketing Manager for JOTNA Nigeria, where he spearheaded the development and execution of highly successful marketing campaigns that delivered over 500% volume growth for the TLCC brand portfolio.

Onyeka Okoli is an award winning, seasoned brand marketing professional with a proven track record for launching award-winning and successful brand campaigns locally and internationally. His experiences which spans about two decades in the education, entertainment, financial services and FMCG industries are an indication of his solid grasp of entrepreneurship, project management, reputation management, brand building & positioning, brand communication, consumer insight generation, digital marketing, experiential marketing, and media strategies.

Onyeka’s innovative approach to marketing led to the extremely successful revitalization and relaunch of carbonated soft drinks and Beer brands in Nigeria as well as repositioning one of the oldest banks in Nigeria. In addition, was the launch of the first sold out Afrobeat Music concert in the USA, One Africa Music Festival in New York (Barclays Center) and Houston (Toyota Center) which showcased the best of Afrobeat Music to the world.

Onyeka has worked in several roles in program management for his alma mater, Florida International University where he is an Executive Board Member, Eugenio Pino and Family Global Entrepreneurship Centre. At the university, he also developed recruitment strategies for the global programs in the Caribbean and South America.

Onyeka moved back home as the Export Development Manager at Nigerian Breweries, a Heineken Operating Company growing the export markets in Western and Southern Africa, Asia, and Europe. He thereafter moved on to senior brand management roles within Heineken before he left to join Union Bank of Nigeria, becoming Head, Strategic Brand Management. From there, he joined FBNQuest where he was the Acting Head, Communications & Knowledge Engagement, where he led the development and execution of brand and media strategies across all FBNQuest businesses, resulting in a significant increase in brand awareness, and equity.

His expertise includes export development, social impact marketing, consumer and trade marketing, partnership management, media planning and buying, digital activation, marketing strategies, product innovation, new product launch/go-to-market strategies, marketing campaign development (from ideation to successful execution), and experiential marketing.

Onyeka has a MSc. in International Business from Florida International University, a BSc. in International Economics from the University of Florida; and an Associate degree in International Business from Euro American Institute of Technology (Renamed SKEMA), France. He is an associate member of the National Institute of Marketers of Nigeria, Advertising Practitioners Council of Nigeria, and Nigerian Institute of Public Relations. He sits on the board of several successful start-ups leading change through technology in the retail and food industry.
