StarTimes Kenya Appoints a New CEO and Regional Marketing Manager

Startimes Kenya, the Chinese pay television company with a presence in the Kenyan market, has appointed a new CEO.

Mr Andy Wang will become StarTimes Kenya CEO where he will be overseeing the  overall operations of the pay television company. He will also have additional responsibilities where he will double up as the Regional Director covering seven countries which includes Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Zambia and Malawi. He will be based in Kenya.

Mr Wang has over 10 years of  business management experience where he was the Chief Executive in Uganda and had managerial positions in Malawi.

He said in his statement “It is a great pleasure to oversee the Kenyan operations and especially at this time when we are keen to strengthen our terrestrial and satellite television service while growing the over the top (OTT) business, our online video streaming services known as StarTimes On”.

Also to note , Startimes  took the opportunity to appoint Mr Aldrine Nsubuga who will be the regional marketing director that will also oversee the marketing activities of the aforementioned countries.

StarTimes has aggressively marketed their decoders with competitive pricing in the country. They also sell digital television sets of various sizes that allow you to enjoy StarTimes content in your house.

Interestingly, they  have even ventured into the mobile streaming platform with their StarTimes ON app which allows you to enjoy over 150 channels in over 10 languages. It also has over 40 StarTimes owned channels that you can enjoy as well as access live replays and key highlights of premium content like sports on the platform.
