Nigeria: Palmpay Limited Appoints Kevin Olumese As Senior Marketing Manager

A leading digital financial services company in Nigeria, Palmpay Limited has appointed Kevin Olumese, a marketing communications professional as its Senior Marketing Manager.

Olumese joins PalmPay from Infinix Mobile as the Marketing Communications and Public Relations Manager for over four years where he developed integrated marketing strategies to increase brand awareness, perception, customer conversion, and retention. He ideated campaigns and go-to-market strategies that combined digital, experiential, and PR marketing functions and communication channels for the company.

As Olumese takes on this new role, he brings with him a wealth of experience and skills, including marketing management, media strategy, multi-channel marketing, project management, advertising, media planning, digital marketing, and marketing strategy.

At PalmPay, Olumese will head the marketing team and lead the company’s marketing efforts to increase brand awareness, perception, and customer acquisition. He will also manage briefs for brand communications and product adoption strategies in above-the-line (ATL) and below-the-line (BTL) activations.

Kevin began his career as a Marketing and Management Executive at Niteshift Coliseum Entertainment in 2012. In 2015, he joined Ardoe House Hotel Limited (Mecure Group) Experiential Marketing and Event Coordinator.

After his stint at the company, Kevin joined DealDey Limited as a Marketing Communications Lead, rising through the ranks to become Head of Marketing for the company where his primary role was to develop and execute marketing strategies that increased the company’s brand awareness, customer conversion, and customer retention.

In 2019, he joined Infinix Mobile as a Digital Marketing Manager. While at Infinix Mobile, Kevin developed organic and paid digital marketing strategies to increase brand equity. He also redesigned product launch plans from headquarters to fit locally and led the team to execute. He worked in this position for 1 year and 2 months before being promoted to the position of Marketing Communications and Public Relations Manager, a position he held for 3 years and 1 month.

As Marketing Communications and Public Relations Manager, Kevin was responsible for developing integrated marketing strategies that increased brand awareness, brand perception, customer conversion, and customer retention. He was also responsible for campaign ideation and Go-To-Market strategies that combined digital, experiential, and PR marketing functions and communication channels. Kevin managed PR and media agencies to deliver on brand briefs and objectives during campaigns, among other functions.

Kevin Olumese is an alumnus of the University of Lagos, Akoka and the Robert Gordon University where he holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics and a Master of Science (MSc), in International Marketing and Management, respectively.

Olumese’s appointment comes at a time PalmPay seeks to expand its market share and reach new customers in Nigeria. The company has made significant strides in recent years, and with Olumese’s expertise, it is poised to take its marketing efforts to the next level.
