LG appoints new brand ambassadors

LG has appointed Ben Cyco, Wanjiru Njiru, and Georgie Ndirangu as its newest brand ambassadors.

Ben, a gospel musician and content creator, has a strong following on social media, as is Wanjiru, a podcaster and digital content creator. Together, they have more than 270,000 followers on Instagram alone.

Georgie, a seasoned journalist, has previously worked for the BBC, CNBC, and Forbes Africa and now consults in development communications, in addition to offering event moderation services. Having reached the pinnacle of media success, Georgie, who recently celebrated his 35th birthday, will use his ambassadorship to reflect on his career achievements and the lessons he has learned along the way.

According to LG, the three brand ambassadors embody the values of the brand, including strong relationships, resilience, and leadership in the pursuit of goals and dreams. Wanjiru and Ben celebrate their individual milestones and the positive impact they have had on each other’s lives. As their story unfolds over the next three months, they will reveal how LG has enhanced their everyday experiences. Meanwhile, Georgie’s story resonates with that of LG, revealing a non-ending quest to become the best.

LG, through its different social media channels, will share video reels with inspirational and educational stories from the lives of the three ambassadors, starting October 1 until December 31, 2024. Over this period, fans may expect to witness how different LG appliances, equipment, and systems can enhance the lives of their users, embodying the spirit of LG’s brand slogan Life’s Good. Among the LG products to be experienced through the stories of the new brand ambassadors are LG OLED TVs, LG washing machines and dryers, LG Bluetooth Speakers, LG Cinebeam projectors, and LG NeoChef microwave ovens.

LG’s Managing Director for East Africa, Dongwon Lee said, “Our three brand ambassadors were selected from a diverse pool, and they were found to have ideals and experiences that align with LG’s brand mission in Africa. We are confident that they will help spread the message of ‘Life’s Good’ to many more people.”

Georgie said, “This is a great opportunity to share the lessons I have been fortunate enough to gather over the growth of my career, and I am hoping to inspire many young people to persistently follow their dreams.”

“In the past one year, we have had to overcome multiple challenges, but we are glad to have sailed through together to emerge even stronger,” said Ben.

“This is a great opportunity to showcase the favor we have received in our lives and to inspire people to be resilient and never give up,” added Wanjiru.
