KingMakers Appoints Nengi Akinola as Head of Marketing

A leading sports and digital entertainment platform across the African continent, KingMakers has appointed an accomplished C-suite Marketing professional, Nengi Akinola as its Head of Marketing.

In her new position, Nengi will be in charge of managing the cross-functional marketing team to drive growth for the BetKing Online business through market-leading innovations and award-winning marketing initiatives.

Nengi is a versatile marketing Amazon who boasts over 13 years’ experience across Tech, Consumer Electronics, FMCG and Public sector in brand strategy, marketing communications, advertising, digital marketing, media management and corporate communications.

 She has worked across multiple industries on big brands and clients like Diageo, Unilever, Nestle, PZ, Unified Payments, RB, GSK, Suntory, Pfizer, Vitafoam, FMCL, and Government campaigns such as Tradermoni & Sanwo-Olu Governorship election.

Prior to her new role, she served as the Head of Marketing, Branding, and Corporate Communications at FairMoney, Nigeria’s No. 1 credit-led digital bank, where she drove the company’s brand transformation and product marketing strategies across multiple segments, contributing to a 6 million+ customer base.

Nengi has also served as Marketing Manager for the global OPPO Mobile brand in Nigeria, she was directly responsible for the successful launch and sustenance of over 18 products in two years. She was also at the forefront of record-breaking marketing campaigns and penetration strategies that have revolutionized the mobile phone landscape and delivered a threefold marketing objective for the OPPO business within the review period.

She cut her teeth in the industry at Insight Grey (Now Insight Publicis), where she joined as a Management Trainee in 2012. She rose through the ranks to the position of Account Management Executive and Activation Team Lead before leaving to join GDM in 2016.

At GDM, she joined as Brand Strategy and Creative Manager, and after more than two years, she left the marketing communications group as a Head of Consulting & Brand Strategy to join OPPO Nigeria.

Nengi is an alumna of the University of Port Harcourt where she bagged a B.Sc. in Computer Science in 2009. She is also an alumna of the University of South Wales where she obtained an MBA. She holds a certification from the prestigious London Business School, in Digital Marketing: SEM, SEO and social media.
