Ghana: Consolidated Shipping Agencies Limited donates medical items to Gyedu Health Centre    

Consolidated Shipping Agencies Limited (CONSHIP) has donated medical items to the Gyedu Health Centre at Gyedu, in the Ahafo Region for quality health care delivery.

The items include 28 boxes of reusable gowns, five cartons of Savlon (5) litres, two packs of baby scale digital, three pieces of wheel chair and 10 boxes of disposable syringe (2ML).

The rest are; 10 boxes of disposable syringe (10ML), three pieces of Omron BP monitor, 10boxes of Cannula IV, 10 boxes of six plaster rolls and 10 boxes of four plaster rolls as well as three pieces of one touch medical treatment-glucometer

At a brief ceremony, Ms. Veronica Kwofie, CONSHIP Site Representative at the Newmont Ahafo Mines said, “this presentation is part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). We scouted for a community within the environment we operate, to provide health support within Ahafo and with the help of Newmont community development department; Gyedu Health Centre was the minor community in dire need of the medical supplies”.

She continued, “Upon reaching out to them, they provided a list of medical items, critical to them that will support in effective health care delivery in the area and CONSHIP is happy to have made their dream come true”.

Mr. Owusu Ababio, a representative of Newmont Gold Ghana Limited, believed the donation is aligned with the company’s value and CSR.

“This will support the treatment and management of various medical conditions and enable the facility to deliver top-notch healthcare services”

He therefore encouraged the Gyedu Health Centre to use it for the purpose for which it was intended.

Mr. Jude Aziz, Physician Assistant at the Gyedu Health Centre, commended CONSHIP for the medical items.

“Thank you so much for responding to our request. This will go a long way to ensure effective and efficient health care delivery to the people,” he said.

He appealed to other organisations operating in the area to emulate the example of CONSHIP and support the health centre in this direction.
