GCB Bank PLC has announced the appointment of Cynthia Ofori-Dwumfuo as its new Chief Marketing, Communications, and Customer Experience Officer, marking a significant leadership enhancement.
This newly created role aims to elevate the bank’s brand relevance and customer experience by integrating customer experience, corporate affairs, and marketing across all channels, signaling a bold step-up in investment, standards, and accountability.
With measurable goals targeting satisfaction, reputation, advocacy, engagement, and product adoption, the move aligns with GCB’s 73-year legacy of supporting Ghana’s people and enterprises, positioning it as the nation’s most supportive bank.
Managing Director Farihan Alhassan emphasized the appointment’s centrality to the bank’s next growth phase, highlighting Ms. Ofori-Dwumfuo’s extensive experience. Since 2007, she has built a stellar reputation in marketing communications, customer engagement, and corporate affairs across international and pan-African markets.
Her accolades include CIMG Marketing Practitioner of the Year, PRovoke Media’s Innovator 25 EMEA, and Ogilvy’s EMEA Rising Stars, alongside recognition as one of Ghana’s Top 10 Women in PR and 50 Most Influential Young Ghanaians. She has led award-winning campaigns and repositioned brands across diverse industries.

Currently, Ms. Ofori-Dwumfuo serves as Board Chairperson of the Springboard Road Show Foundation (funded by the Mastercard Foundation) and a board member of Gold Money Market Fund (GMMF). Most recently, she was Group Head of Marketing, Corporate Affairs, and Customer Experience at Hollard Ghana, where she strengthened the brand and pioneered industry-leading initiatives.
Her earlier career spans senior roles at Ogilvy Ghana and West Africa, Global Media Alliance, and Now Available Africa, with international stints at Vox Global and American University Washington College of Law in the US, and consulting for the World Bank’s CGAP, SupaCem, and Enterprise Computing Ltd.
An Accredited Public Relations Practitioner with IPR and a CIMG member, she holds a Master’s in Professional Communication from Clemson University and a Bachelor’s in Economics from KNUST. A thought leader, she teaches IPR courses, mentors professionals, and publishes in CIM UK’s Catalyst magazine and the Business & Financial Times.
