Country Manager for Bolt Ghana pledges to take platform to another level

Bolt Ghana has pledged that it will continue to roll out innovative products and services to meet the transport needs of customers.

The Country Manager of Bolt Ghana, David Kotei Nikoi, who made the pledge while recounting his one-year journey as the head of the company said, Bolt Ghana was currently the leading ride-haling company in Ghana.

“We take nothing for granted and must double our efforts to ensure we provide what all our stakeholders expect from us,” he said.

Mr. Nikoi in an open letter to Ghana riders said in December 2022, Bolt Ghana would celebrate five years since the establishment of the company in Ghana, saying “It is a significant period to reflect on the state of our platform and the way forward.”

He said Bolt Ghana had resolved to improve both its product quality and driver behaviour which had soured some riders on the Bolt experience.

The Country Manager said Bolt Ghana was introducing a system to enable customers to pay for their fares electronically or with their credit card.

“Ghana is still quite a cash-heavy market, and we are looking to fix this with your help and driver support. So what we are doing is multifaceted. We are reinforcing and solidifying the training we provide to driver partners on the benefits of card trips,” he said

“We will be rolling out more stringent penalties for drivers who drop riders because of their payment method, which is incompatible with what we stand for as a business,” Mr. Nikoi added.

The Country Manager warned Bolt Drivers to desist from embarking on a trip offline because in such situation the company could not track the whereabouts of the drivers.

Mr. Nikoi said Bolt Ghana would be rolling out a feature to minimise the possibility of driver impersonation and advised Bolt customers to “Check the driver’s identity to ensure that there is a match before sitting in a car.”

He entreated customers to use the multiple stop feature on Bolt with colleagues, friends and family who lived in the same vicinity so they could split the cost of a trip.

Mr. Nikoi paid glowing tribute to the clients and stakeholders of Bolt Ghana for their loyalty and commitment to the company, which placed Bolt as the leading ride-hailing company in Ghana.

“Overall, we had made great strides in our journey, from when we had only a few drivers and riders to the milestone where millions of people in Ghana are enjoying the Bolt experience. So we are always looking to improve and evolve,” Mr. Nikoi said.

Bolt Ghana established five years ago operated in eight cities across the country.
