Fidelity Bank Ghana Hosts Record-Breaking Third Edition of Orange Market

Fidelity Bank Ghana has held the third edition of its Orange Market initiative, bringing together a record 40 young entrepreneurs at Enclave Gardens in a partnership with the Accra Goods Market.

The event, which has grown steadily since its 2024 launch, gave youth-led businesses a high-traffic commercial platform to showcase locally made products and services, test their business models, and generate direct revenue. The first edition hosted 35 entrepreneurs, the second 20, bringing the cumulative total of market opportunities created to 95 in just two years.

The Orange Market operates as a flagship initiative under the Fidelity Young Entrepreneurship Initiative (FYEI), specifically serving beneficiaries of the Orange Corners Innovation Fund (OCIF) — a programme run in partnership with the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

Nana Yaa Afriyie Ofori-Koree, Head of Partnerships, Sustainability and CSR at Fidelity Bank, said the initiative was born out of a recognition that funding and training alone were insufficient without a route to market. “The Orange Market was created to solve exactly that problem,” she said, adding that the bank’s goal is to continuously expand the initiative and introduce beneficiaries to high-value platforms where they can “compete, scale, and build resilient brands.”

The event’s co-organiser, Makafui Ayimey, Founder of The Accra Goods Market, described the collaboration as “phenomenal,” noting that the entrepreneurs coming through the programme are “structured, innovative, and ready for the market.”

Businesses featured at this year’s edition spanned agribusiness, sustainable fashion, tech-enabled services, and the creative arts. Participants had already received patient capital, mentorship, and business training through the FYEI before arriving at the market.

The initiative marks a shift in how the bank positions itself — less as a traditional lender and more as an end-to-end partner for early-stage businesses navigating the critical challenge of moving from funding to sustainable growth.
