Brand South Africa has appointed Mmaphuti Rankapole-Tshifularo as its new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO), bringing nearly three decades of high-level expertise to the organisation tasked with shaping and promoting South Africa’s global image.
Rankapole-Tshifularo is a recognised leader in brand stewardship, strategic marketing, and stakeholder alignment. Her impressive career spans executive roles at prominent companies including Famous Brands, Pioneer Foods, Tiger Brands, Yum! Restaurants, and Unilever. She holds an MBA from the Gordon Institute of Business Science (GIBS) and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of the Witwatersrand.
Her proven strengths in consumer insights, brand equity building, innovation strategy, and cross-functional leadership position her ideally to elevate Brand South Africa’s Nation Brand Marketing and Communications efforts.
The appointment forms part of a broader executive strengthening, which also includes a new Chief Financial Officer, aimed at addressing leadership gaps and boosting organisational capacity.
