Meet Ngozi Akinyele, the Newly Appointed Group Executive, Chief Marketing & Communications Officer for Coronation

Known as an experienced management consultant and brand manager with a high sense of drive, initiative and ability to apply knowledge as required in the workplace, Ngozi Akinyele has taken on a new position as the Group Executive, Chief Marketing & Communications Officer for Coronation, Africa’s leading financial services institution.

Having a specific interest in brand development, marketing, operational transformation, business intelligence, analytics and change management across aviation, banking, retail consumer goods and transportation sectors among others, Ngozi, in her new position, she will be at the helm of directing Brand, Marketing, Communications, Sustainability and Corporate Citizenship priorities for the Coronation Group, as well as build Africa’s tech-enabled investment management powerhouse.

Prior to the promotion, she was the Executive/Deputy Chief Marketing Officer of the financial service company where she was responsible for overseeing Brand, Marketing, Communications, Sustainability and Corporate Citizenship, across all Coronation entities in Africa.

Before joining Coronation, Ngozi was the Head of Strategic Brand Management, Corporate Communications and Marketing at Union Bank of Nigeria.

She also served as the Transformation Analyst and Project Manager and was elevated to Strategy Planning Manager in the same organisation.

At KPMG, Ngozi served as the Senior Associate in Management Consultation.

Outside management consulting, she been a frequent guest interviewer at the widely acclaimed national development fair – “The Platform Nigeria”.

Ngozi had the privilege of interviewing eminent speakers such as HE Prof. Yemi Osinbajo GCON (Vice President of Nigeria); Mrs Ibukun Awosika (Chairperson First Bank Nig.), Dr. Oby Ezekwesili (former Nigerian Minister); Prof. Anil Gupta (global top 50 management expert); among others.

In terms of her educational background, she holds a Bachelor’s degree of Science in Economics from the University of Lagos, certificates in Public Relations; Business Intelligence; Banking Operations; Business Process Improvement; Strategic Management and Employability Skills and an Advanced Marketing Management Program from Northwestern University- Kellogg School of Management.

Ngozi co-hosts a radio show “Girlfriends on Radio” geared towards empowering women and also support start-up fashion businesses.
