Airtel Nigeria commences its ‘Airtel 5 Days of Love’ Yuletide initiative in Lagos

As part of efforts to mark the Yuletide season, Airtel Nigeria, a leading telecommunications service provider, has commenced this year’s annual Christmas feeding programme dubbed ‘Airtel 5 Days of Love’ in Lagos as part of initiatives to give back to the communities where it operates.

Speaking during the flag-off of the program in Lagos, Airtel Chief Executive Officer C. Surendran represented by the Acting Chief Commercial Officer, Mr. Femi Oshinlaja stated that the initiative is in line with the vision of the company which is to contribute to the wellbeing of the people in the communities where it operates.

He said “We are a responsible company. Few companies take this on but over the years, we’ve been consistent in showing love and in giving back to our society. What we are doing here today, we are also doing in five other cities across Nigeria and this will do annually. Beyond this, we do so many other things like Airtel Touching Lives, where we assist those who need medical help or support. We invest in education and enable people to have access to the internet, beyond our core business of providing data, voice and other value as added service as a leading telecommunications operator in Nigeria.

On his part, Chairman of Ojodu Local Council Development Area, LCDA, David Odunmbaku while commending the telecom company, noted that the vision of Airtel aligns with the vision of the Lagos State government under the leadership of Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

“Most times we go around begging companies to do CSR but for Airtel, it is the opposite. it shows the premium they placed on their customers. Their vision is in tandem with our own vision which is health, education, youth employment and social inclusion. This is also in tandem with the state administration of Babajide San-wo Olu’s Themes Agenda” he said.

According to Airtel, the 2022 feeding programme which will hold across five major states in the country namely Lagos, Ogun, Enugu, Rivers and Kaduna targets 1000 beneficiaries in each of the five locations.

The program will continue today 6th December in Ogun state. Thereafter move to Enugu North Local Government on the 7th December. The Telco company will visit River State on the 8th of December and conclude the program in Kaduna on the 9th of December.

Through the ‘Five Days of Love’ programme, Airtel says it is sharing love which is the reason for the season by celebrating with the underprivileged and providing quality, hot meals amidst fun and excitements.
