The Coca-Cola Company (TCCC) Elevates Amaka Onyemelukwe To Senior Director, Public Affairs, Comms & Sustainability

Barely three years after she was made a Director at The Coca-Cola Company (TCCC), highflying corporate communications and sustainability Amazon, Amaka Onyemelukwe, has yet again been elevated to the position of Senior Director, Public Affairs, Communications & Sustainability, for the company.

Onyemelukwe who was formerly the Director, Public Affairs, Communications & Sustainability for TCC, had risen through the ranks to her position, having joined the company in 2017 as Head, Public Affairs, Communications & Sustainability.

Amaka is a renowned public policy expert and a sustainability professional with proven expertise in gaining efficiencies, growing company profitability and militating against extreme operating environment and building sustainable communities which in turn builds sustainable business.

While she was the Head, Public Affairs, Communications & Sustainability, she was responsible for enabling sustainable business growth by building a strong and consistent public policy and sustainable agenda for the Coca-Cola business in Nigeria. She also oversees the strategic communication and stakeholder management as well as leads high impact sustainable programmes that create shared value in communities.

Prior to joining Coca-Cola Nigeria Limited, Onyemelukwe worked at Philip Morris International, where she served as Manager, Corporate Affairs.  She was responsible for building relationships with governments and public bodies; developing and executing regulatory strategies; developing internal and external communications among others.

She started her professional career with Novartis Pharmaceuticals and served at various capacities before leaving the company to pursue other diverse experience.

Amaka holds a B.Sc. in Pharmacy from the University of Benin, Edo State, Nigeria and an MBA from the University of Lagos, Nigeria. She is also an alumna of Harvard Business Publishing.
