NIMN, NIPR,NIPMG launch maiden Reputation Day to champion ethics, national rebranding

The National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN), in collaboration with the Nigeria Institute of Public Relations (NIPR) and the Nigeria Reputation Management Group (NRMG), has launched the inaugural edition of the Nigeria Reputation Day, an annual initiative designed to promote integrity, professionalism, and positive national perception.

The landmark celebration, themed “Better Reputation, Better Nigeria,” seeks to encourage Nigerians to take personal and collective responsibility for shaping the nation’s image through ethical conduct, transparency, and everyday actions.

In a statement, the President of NIMN, Dr. Bolajoko Bayo-Ajayi, fnimn, emphasized that reputation is one of the most valuable assets a nation can build. She called on Nigerians to act with integrity and accountability in their personal, professional, and public lives, noting that sustainable development depends largely on trust and credibility.

“The Institute encourages all Nigerians to take personal responsibility for the country’s image through everyday actions, business practices, and public discourse. Let us market a better Nigeria, one reputation at a time,” Dr. Bayo-Ajayi stated.

She outlined the five core pillars driving Nigeria’s reputation renewal agenda: Integrity, Transparency, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence—principles she said will guide institutions and individuals in promoting ethical leadership and effective service delivery.

The NIMN noted that the Nigeria Reputation Day is not just about communication but about “living the values we promote.” The day aims to reshape how Nigerians perceive themselves and how the world views Nigeria—by showcasing success stories, inspiring confidence, and building trust through authenticity and consistency.

Dr. Bayo-Ajayi reaffirmed NIMN’s commitment to professional development, ethical marketing practices, and national advocacy, stressing that the Institute will continue to lead initiatives that strengthen Nigeria’s image locally and internationally.

She added that the celebration is also a call to marketers, communicators, and business leaders to use storytelling, innovation, and strategic communication as tools for shaping a better national identity.

“Happy Nigeria Reputation Day! Let us market a better Nigeria, one reputation at a time,” she concluded.
