Dennis Mambure, Director, Marketing and Corporate Affairs, Absa Bank Botswana, has been named MarketingWorld’s CMO of the Week.

With nearly three years at the helm of marketing and corporate affairs at Absa Bank Botswana, Dennis Mambure, Absa Bank Botswana has redefined excellence in Botswana’s financial sector, leveraging an illustrious career spanning over 20 years across Sub-Saharan Africa.

His expertise is a rare blend of strategic foresight, transformative leadership, and an unwavering commitment to customer-centric innovation—qualities that make him an indispensable asset to Absa and the broader business landscape.

Before joining Absa, Mambure served as Group Head of Marketing and Communications at FMBcapital Holdings Plc, where he orchestrated multi-country campaigns that amplified brand presence across Southern Africa. His tenure at Barclays is equally remarkable, culminating as Head of Marketing, Products & Channels.

Mambure pioneered groundbreaking solutions like Hello Money (mobile banking) and Cashsend (money transfer), while expanding the bancassurance portfolio with offerings like funeral cash cover and education protection plans. These innovations didn’t just meet customer needs—they anticipated them, cementing his reputation as a trailblazer.

Beyond corporate triumphs, Dennis spent 14 years as an Adjunct Lecturer across institutions like Bindura University and NUST, shaping the next generation of marketers with his deep knowledge of brand building and marketing analytics.
