
MarketingWorld’s CMO of the Week: Colin Asiimwe of MultiChoice Uganda
Colin Asiimwe, Head of Marketing at MultiChoice Uganda, has been recognized as MarketingWorld Magazine’s CMO of the Week. This prestigious accolade celebrates outstanding marketing leadership and transformative impact in the industry.
Asiimwe’s tenure at MultiChoice builds on his prior stint, during which he drove brand growth, managed integrated marketing communications, and launched premium local content channels like Pearl Magic Prime.
Before rejoining MultiChoice, Asiimwe was a Project Consultant at BFA Global, providing venture-building support remotely from Kampala. He conducted market feasibility studies, developed go-to-market strategies, and assessed digital marketing trends, including influencer categories in Uganda and Jobtech platforms for refugee employment inclusion.
Simultaneously, as a self-employed Marketing Consultant, Asiimwe supported diverse clients with tailored marketing strategies. At Wave Mobile Money, as Marketing Manager, he spearheaded market entry initiatives, focusing on consumer segmentation, business development, and public policy.

Asiimwe ’s earlier career spans strategic roles across East Africa. As Head of Strategy and Planning at Creative Y&R in Kenya, he drove client satisfaction for brands like Crown Paints and Bidco Africa. At Metropolitan Republic, he led digital transformation and strategy for clients like MTN and Vivo Energy Uganda, winning new business with Stanbic Bank and Unilever.

His experience also includes roles at Tonic International, QG Group Uganda, WPP-Scangroup, and Star Leo Advertising , where he honed skills in account management, media strategy, and business development across sectors like telecommunications, finance, and hospitality. With a proven track record, Colin continues to shape MultiChoice Uganda’s marketing landscape with creativity and strategic insight.
