Ghana: British Airways adds three weekly flights to Accra, introduces brand-new uniform

British Airways has added three weekly flights to its existing daily London (Heathrow) – Accra – London (Heathrow) service.

The new flights, which will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, will offer Ghanaian travellers more choice of flight times and airports.

Moran Birger, British Airways’ Head of Sales for Africa, Middle East, and South Asia, said at a brief inaugural ceremony in Accra on Sunday, October 29, 2023, that the added capacity “gives our Ghanaian customers more flexibility, more choice in terms of prices and products, and another direct gateway into London.”

Birger also announced that from next Spring, British Airways will expand its schedule further and offer four weekly flights from Gatwick, up from three, in addition to the daily service from Heathrow.

He also revealed that the airline has introduced a brand-new uniform, designed by Ghanaian-British master tailor, Ozwald Boateng.

In a statement read on his behalf, the Minister of Transport, Kwaku Ofori Asiamah, commended British Airways for the initiative.

He also urged all sector players to support the government to make Ghana the hub for air transport.
