Samuel Akinrimisi, one of Nigeria’s most decorated marketing executives, has been appointed Group Head of Marketing at CWAY Group — a move that industry observers are already describing as one of the most significant executive appointments in Nigeria’s fast-moving consumer goods sector this year.
The appointment represents a promotion for Akinrimisi, who previously served CWAY Food & Beverages as Deputy Marketing Director. His return signals the Group’s strategic decision to consolidate its brand leadership under proven internal talent, as it pursues an ambitious growth agenda across its portfolio.
Akinrimisi brings to the role a career spanning more than a decade across some of Nigeria’s most competitive FMCG environments. His professional journey has taken him through AIMS Asset Management Company, Nycil Limited, Nagode Industries, Eko Supreme Resources Nigeria Limited, and HPZ Limited — a subsidiary of PZ Cussons Nigeria Plc — where he served as Category Manager and Communications Lead.
It was at HPZ Limited that Akinrimisi’s national profile crystallised. Under his stewardship, the Haier Thermocool brand was named Brand of the Year 2022 and won two additional honours at the Advertisers Association of Nigeria (ADVAN) African Marketing Awards for Excellence. He personally received the grand prix award for Brand Manager of the Year at the same ceremony.

He joined CWAY Food & Beverages in 2023 as Deputy Marketing Director, where he played a central role in revitalising the company’s marketing operations and brand strategy. His tenure delivered institutional recognition: the Advertising Regulatory Council of Nigeria (ARCON) named CWAY Food and Beverages winner of the ASP Compliance Award in the Food and Beverage Category at its 2023 Advertising Conference in Abuja, while MARKETING EDGE honoured him with a Top-10 Marketing Managers Award that same year.
Following his first chapter at CWAY, Akinrimisi returned to Eko Supreme Resources as New Product Development Lead, where he co-launched SoKlin Smart Liquid Detergent.
Beyond his corporate roles, Akinrimisi holds the Fellowship of the National Institute of Marketing of Nigeria (NIMN) — the institute’s highest honour — and is an Affiliate Member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM). He currently serves as Treasurer of the Advertisers Association of Nigeria (ADVAN) and represents the association at the Advertising Standards Panel of ARCON.
